AlmeFinally, after much frustration, we had Danaosa successful embryo transfer from Leary to a host mare. Leary had been AI'd to Danaos du Theillet, a Selle Francais stallion that was imported to Australia. He had been competing very successfully in Europe before sustaining an injury. He has some notable bloodlines including to Alme and Ibrahim.

Danaos Du Theillet, the 16.3hh Selle Francais stallion has competed successfully across Europe with consistent wins and placings at CSI 1, 2 & 3 star competitions.  VIDEO

Danaos Du Theillet was described by his German rider as a beautiful stallion with heart, courage & strength, whose jumping ability is already proven at large tournaments.

After passing all Biosecurity checks, Prominent did not meet the requirements for his semen, so that was the end of that hope.

Revelation

Amadora is being joined to Holsteiner stallion,  Snowview Revelation, sired by Riverman. Snowview has the Ibrahim, Landgraf I and Cor de La Bryere parentage. Revelation's sire Riverman earned his place in the German FN's 2000 statistics as one of the top siRevelation2res of his generation. Riverman stood 2nd in the FN's Jumping Index and 3rd in the Overall Index for stallions of his age group, due to the success of his offspring in both dressage and jumping competition.

After doing all the ultrasounds etc, it has turned out that it is too late for joining her, so we wait until September.

When Carrero was a few months old, Leary trod on his front left hoof. At the time he seemed to get over it quickly. Late November 2009, we noticed that he was starting to limp. He was x-rayed and an old fracture in the pedalxray bone was confirmed. After various diagnoses, with differing opinions, we were referred to Dr. Nick Kannegieter (B.V.Sc., Ph.D., F.A.C.V.Sc.). Dr Kannegieter is regarded as one of the best arthroscopic, orthopaedic and respiratory surgeons in Australia. Carrero was taken to the Warwick Farm Equine Centre on the 26th April, where Nick was to operate. He removed a fractured extensor process, approximately 1.5 cm in diameter, via a dorsal approach. Carrero has made a good recovery so far and his future looks very promising. This could not have been achieved without the excellent care by the staff at the Warwick Farm Equine centre and the skill of  Nick Kannegieter. Also Terry Hicks from  The Hunter Valley Equine Podiatry and Lameness Centre (operating out of the Muswellbrook Veterinary Hospital) has been of great assistance, initially suggesting Nick. and giving follow up advice.
