If you are a fan of Omadeus and would like to see him in action and meet him, Sunday 19th February is Omadeus’ second show.

The show will be at Bowral Dressage Club, in Bowral NSW. His first class is at 9am, followed by classes at 9:50am and 10:40am.

Omadeus shines at his first show

The rain ceased and the sun shone on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th February 2012 at Worrigee for Omadeus’ first show.

The sun wasn’t the only thing shining, with Omadeus looking magnificent and being the most well behaved 3 1/2 year old stallion that one could ask for!

Newest Tori foal is a filly!

Dundee Tori Stud awoke this morning to discover a little present in the paddock – a Tori filly!

Our beautiful healthy filly is dark bay like her dam (Thoroughbred mare, Trixie) and showing the calmness of her sire (Tori stallion, Carrero) she is beautiful and delicate and full of personality.

A name beginning with “C” (in keeping with the Estonian tradition of naming after the sire, Carrero) will be chosen soon!

Brand New Tori Colt: Introducing “Omedu”!!

Having deliberated for over a fortnight our new colt has officially been named: “Omedu”.

Owing the initial ‘O’ to his sire, Omadeus, we chose this name to honour his Estonian heritage as Omedu is a village in Kasepää Parish, Jõgeva County in eastern Estonia.

Thank you to all who so freely gave us suggestions – you made it tougher for us to choose, but we now have a wealth of names to use for our next bundle of joy!

First Australian Bred Pure Tori Horse Born!

We have great news to share, the fourth Australian born Tori Horse and first ever purely Australian bred Tori Horse is born! Last night Leary foaled a beautiful big colt!

Despite not being due for another 5 days, this big boy no longer had any room inside Mum and rushed out to say “Hello!”.

Sired by Omadeus, our little one is currently a soft dun with a full white blaze and four white socks. Our new boy looks like when he straightens up he may well be the biggest Australian born Tori Horse yet!

Leary and Our New Foal

We have been considering names beginning with “O” for our newest addition, but would love to name him something big and bold just like him! Does anyone have any suggestions?

“Just a horse….”

From time to time, people tell me, “lighten up, it’s just a horse,” or, “that’s a lot of money for ‘just a horse’ “. They don’t understand the distance travelled, the time spent, or the costs involved for “just a horse.” Some of my proudest moments have come about with “just a horse.” Many hours have passed and my only company was “just a horse,” but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by “just a horse,’ and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of “just a horse” gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day. If you, too, think it’s “just a horse,” then you will probably understand phrases like “just a friend,” “just a sunrise,” or “just a promise.” “Just a horse” brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. “Just a horse” brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person. Because of “just a horse” I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it’s not “just a horse” but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment. “Just a horse” brings out what’s good in me and diverts my thoughts away. I hope that someday they can understand that it’s not “just a horse” but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being “just a woman/man.” So the next time you hear the phrase “just a horse” just smile, because they “just” don’t understand. ~Anonymous

Sad day at Dundee Tori Stud

On Wednesday 7th September 2011 Amadora miscarried her foal. Despite being scanned, it was not detected that she was carrying twin foals and as such was not able to carry full term.

While she was very sad, sore and disappointed at not being able to be a mum; Amadora has recovered quite well and is being well looked after in anticipation for being put back with Carrero again when she is ready.
